Day 8

Oct.13 Monday

Hi you all !
Well we got to Moab Utah about 10am and decided to anchor down a place to stay. We found a great place with a hot tub in our room. After horseback riding we knew the hot tub was a must. It's the Moab Valley Inn and we highly recommend it. We were able to check right in and then we took off for Arches National Park.

We started off with a little 2 mile hike.

We are off to balance rock.

Balanced Rock   The rock on top is 55ft tall.

Its estimated weight is 3500 tons.

We are enjoying this park as much the first time.

That 2 mile hike is starting to show.

Window flying. What you can't see is the 25mph breeze.

They look like there having fun.

Looking out the window.

Like all out here size is deceiving.

Ralph, can I take this one home for my garden? Sure Sue, just put it in the car.

Keyhole Arch. I about blew over when taking this picture.

Double Arch. Can't tell there're sisters can you.

Papa rocks.

Only people that have hiked to Delicate Arch can appreciate the so called 3 mile hike. Maybe air miles.
We are looking back at the parking lot from the half way mark.

Almost there. The final 300 yards we had to walk this ledge trail. Tried to get Sue by this but she just could not handle the height so she never got around the final corner to see it. While Prilly and I were over looking at it some guy asked me...
You couldn't talk your daugther into coming the rest of the way ? Prilly couldn't wait to tell Sue. I must look pretty darn old. She's older than I am.

The other side of the arch is a straight drop off.

Prilly on the edge of the arch.

Desert lizard.

We like our motel so well we decided to stay anouther night.
Will visit Canyonlands National Park tomorrow.
